Domestic sewage treatment plants are becoming increasingly popular with new homebuilders. The ability to utilize the treated water being vital in a time of water shortage.

The first stage of the Aeration Sewage System is the septic tank chamber. Problems can arise in this area due to harmful chemicals e.g. bleaches, detergents etc., antibiotics or when the system reaches its' design capacity with a sudden shock of additional effluent. As a result the system cannot cope and the ensuing odour signals a problem. Irrigation jets block up with undigested solids and the septic tank begins to fill with sludge.

The SSR (Septic System Revitaliser) or SST(Septic System Treatment), is used to reduce major sludge problems and to maintain the system. After using SSR all odour should be gone from the system within several days.
